Corrigan Celebrates its 85th Anniversary
2014 is a very exciting year for Corrigan Moving Systems, as it marks the 85th anniversary of our company. In honor of this historic milestone, Corrigan will be celebrating our anniversary in each of the communities in which we operate. Every month we will be visiting one of our branch locations and participating in a local community event as part of our anniversary celebrations.
To help make these visits more entertaining, we recently purchased a 1929 Ford Model AA truck – the same type of truck that Frank “The Chief” Corrigan used when he started this company. At each branch location we will be getting involved in a neat community event like a parade or a festival. Accompanying the truck will be The Chief himself, who will be in character dressed up in 1920’s clothes, who will be happy to share stories about our company’s history. If you see The Chief and his truck at a community event nearby, come on up and say hello!
Be sure to follow along with us as The Chief’s Truck makes his journey to each city. Bookmark our anniversary event web page, follow us on Facebook for updates, or come back to our blog once a month to make sure you are kept in the loop. If you see the truck is coming to an event near you, come on out and join in the celebration. If you end up with any photos or videos after the event we’d love to see them! The first event of the year is the weekend, at the Plymouth Ice Festival in Plymouth Michigan. We are very excited to be celebrating our 85th anniversary and are looking forward to celebrating with all of you throughout the year.
Corrigan was founded in 1929 in Dearborn Michigan by Frank Corrigan. Prior to starting the moving company, Frank ran an ice delivery company with his brothers with their three trucks. People often asked Frank to help him move, and so in 1929 he left the ice business to his brothers and started Corrigan Moving. 85 years later the company is stronger than ever, recently having won United Van Line’s 2013 President’s Quality Award. Today Corrigan has 12 locations throughout Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, and New York, 600 employees and over 200 trucks. Read more about Corrigan’s history here.
