As the leading provider of school and university moving services, Corrigan has had the privilege of working with hundreds of educational facilities. We’ve assisted public and private schools at the local level, as well as relocating higher learning facilities and departments for our nation’s most prestigious colleges and universities. We understand the multi-faceted complexities that surround institutional learning and stand ready to provide a vast suite of relocation services catered toward schools and higher learning institutions.
More often than not, we encounter educational facilities with restricted project dates occurring primarily between the months of June and September. We participate annually in several local school moves of nearly every scope and size. Whether you need items moved inside of a school or are moving everything to a newly constructed building, Corrigan Moving Systems is the authority when it comes to moving schools the right way.
To determine the scope of your job and to create a comprehensive plan, an overall project assessment must take place. During this process, relocation professional from Corrigan’s school and university moving services team will conduct a “walk-through” of the facility (or facilities) involved. They will gather information related to the size and scope of the school moving project, including the location of all items to be moved.
While the general location is assessed, our school relocation expert will also be identifying furniture and equipment involved as part of the move. They will be asking questions, such as whether any furniture will require disassembly and reassembly as part of this project. If disassembly is required for cubicles or other office furniture, our experts will also want to know if there is any reconfiguration planned for reassembling.
During this walk-through process, technology such as computer systems, monitors, media, and other equipment will be identified. Our school relocation expert will be considering any disconnect and reconnection services required. In the case of moving science laboratories or technology labs, our experts will be extra sensitive to items needing special care and handling, including high-value equipment, specimens, or hazardous materials being moved.
While our school relocation expert works to confirm the tangible goods needing to be relocated, they will also be gauging additional, and perhaps not-so-obvious needs of the project. They’ll be considering packing materials and supplies such as how many totes, stickers and boxes are needed, as well as carts and speed packs required. You’ll never be left guessing about any detail related to your school and university moving services.
Once the details of the project are understood, Corrigan’s school relocation expert can compile the information and provide a cost estimate for the project.
After the heavy lifting of ensuring all details are covered, it’s time for Corrigan’s school relocation movers to step in and do the literal heavy lifting. Given the information and details shared from the initial project assessment, our moving team will be prepared to do the work necessary and keep the project on schedule. During the initial move-out phase, our team will ensure the facility is properly protected, including securing all door jams, walls, and floors in traveled areas. We will work to properly label each area and the belongings being moved, complete any necessary packing as well as properly disassemble and pack any equipment needing our crew’s attention. Our team will arrive on time, with the proper equipment to ensure all timelines are met.
Phase II of the school moving project is essentially the reverse of phase I. Our school relocation movers will again ensure the building and facilities are properly protected, securing all traveled areas, including door jams, elevator entrances, walls, and flooring. Items will be delivered and relocated to their properly designated location. Our moving crew will work to reassemble any furniture, before reconnecting equipment and devices.
Once items are successfully delivered to their proper location, and all reconnection services have been completed, our team will conduct one final walk-through with assigned school representatives to ensure that all work has been properly completed to the highest-level that Corrigan is known for.
That was a fantastic experience! The whole crew was amazing. End-to-end experience
with them left us feeling very good (continue to keep us feeling good) about entrusting
Corrigan to transport our home from here to there.
Some details:
Steve, it starts with you. The interactions with you are the reason we selected
Corrigan. You are very good at the details on estimating, you have a lot of experience,
and you are able to educate us on the process – sure, that is the baseline. But, you are
very aware that, although you have the confidence to know how it happens, you know
we do not, plus, we are stressed, over-loaded with myriad details related to the move,
and trying to choose a company for the move is one more of those. You were calm,
patiently explaining, always with a steady confidence, and never coming over that we
were just another form to fill out. So thank you for bringing humanity to our encounter.
Kristy, when the business switched over to you, things did not change. Although what
we worked on was all about contracts and details and schedules, you kept it light and
easy and fast. As an example, when the conversation turned to delivery time window,
you did not just give us a generic 2 week window with no information, you shared out all
the moving parts of how the container goes from here to there with where the
uncertainties were in that process. Having those details changes our view of it from
“black-box” to being included in the process. With empathy, you included us as part of
the team and process.
The crew – the whole lot of them were great. Very nice, easy going, crazy hard
working! They kept everything straight. Individuals changed day to day, that was not a
problem at all. New folks slipped right in and charged on! Them being on-site again,
further supported our feelings of confidence in the whole process.
This letter is regarding your employee, Kristina Haring, and her extraordinary professionalism and service.
I feel compelled to express my appreciation since it is rare to encounter someone with her level of
expertise and care in assuring a successful outcome.
I originally worked with Kristy in 2020 when I moved from Michigan to Alaska. I had no experience or
knowledge of the magnitude of such a move and was apprehensive. In my search for a competent
moving company, I felt an immediate sense of trust in Kristy. Her knowledge, meticulous attention to
detail, and advocacy for her client were obvious which led me to select Corrigan from a list of many
competitors. My move was accomplished with ease.
Five years later, I am now returning to Michigan and though tempted to select a mover based in
Anchorage, I called Corrigan on the chance that Kristy was still with the company. I was thrilled to find
Kristy and immediately set aside any thought of selecting another mover.
Once again, she has been exceptional. This time, I had many questions about how to minimize cost (this
move was at my expense) and Kristy patiently and thoroughly explained my options. Most impressively,
she is handling my move as though it were her own. She has a toughness and no-nonsense way about
her that is both kind and so deeply reassuring. Her skill set is rare and invaluable.
I felt it important that you know , from a customer's perspective, what kind of employee you have in your
midst. You are so very fortunate to have her and I am lucky to have her as my moving specialist. There
are no words to adequately convey my gratitude for being able to sit back and breathe knowing she is
handling it all!
