Corrigan Moving Wins Several Awards at Annual Learning Conference

Over our 90 years in business, Corrigan has won hundreds of awards throughout the years. However, every time we hear “Corrigan Moving Systems!” announced as the winner of another award, the same rush of pride and excitement flows through our veins. We are eager to announce that our team left the Unigroup Learning Conference with more hardware this year!  In all, Corrigan branches and individual team members received eight awards:

  • Heart of Quality- Cassandra McCann, Grand Rapids, MI Branch

  • Masters Club Inner Circle-Logistics/Special Products-Myron Luikart
  • Masters Club Inner Circle-At Large- Myron Luikart
  • Million Dollar Club- Brandon Becker, Ann Arbor, MI Branch

“We are thrilled to see the hard work and dedication of our team recognized,” said David Corrigan, President of Corrigan Moving Systems. “We see everything our branches and team members do on a daily basis to make our company successful; it’s wonderful to see that hard work recognized. We have the most talented group of employees at Corrigan, seeing that highlighted at this awards ceremony makes me very proud.”

The annual Unigroup Learning Conference returned to an in-person event this year. Held near the Unigroup headquarters in St. Louis, MO, the conference is attended by hundreds of members from various United and Mayflower agencies throughout the country. After 3 days of events including workshops and seminars, the conference always concludes with an award ceremony.

“I don’t remember the last time we didn’t win an award of some kind,” said Kirk Hensler, Vice President of Operations. “That speaks to the level of consistent quality of our drivers, move crews and office staff. It’s nice to never leave here empty handed.”

While many of Corrigan’s branches took top honors, a few of Corrigan’s individual employees took home awards in their respective categories. For the second year in a row, Cassandra McCann from the Grand Rapids, MI office won the Heart of Quality Award. This award is given only to the top tier of move coordinators in the Unigroup system. To be eligible to win this award, move coordinators must have sterling customer feedback scores and complete ongoing yearly training.

“We have had several move coordinators win this award, and we are so proud of Cassandra for winning two years in a row. She goes above and beyond for her customers. They see how much she does, we see it, and now she has another trophy to add to her collection,” said David Corrigan.

Myron Luikart works in Corrigan’s specialty Logistics division, working mostly on large scale projects. “Being awarded 2 Masters Club Inner Circle Awards in the same year is not easy to do, but he did it. If anyone needs to find a way to do get something done, it’s Myron. He brings tremendous expertise to our company and his customers. He handles some of our largest-scale projects and manages them all with great attention to detail. He’s truly an asset for us, we’re glad he got some recognition today,” said Kirk Hensler.

In addition to Luikart’s accomplishments, several members of Corrigan’s sales division were welcomed into United’s elite Million Dollar Club for their outstanding sales performance. These individuals demonstrate an outstanding commitment to excellence in annual booked linehaul revenue. Honored were, Brandon Becker, Ann Arbor, MI Branch, Tim Carney, Cleveland, OH Branch, Rob Galardi, Rochester, NY Branch, Craig James, Auburn Hills, MI Branch and Mike Sparks, Buffalo, NY Branch. “Each of these men have gone above and beyond in sales and truly demonstrated a commitment to serving our customers,” stated David Corrigan. “We are honored to have each of them on our team.”

Three Corrigan branches received the Customer Excellence Award, a prestigious award showcasing the devotion to customer satisfaction. After their move is complete, customers are asked to rate various stages of their move. This includes the initial estimate process, their move coordinator, packing, loading and delivery process. Each branch belongs to a different size category, depending on how many moves they service each year. In order to win, each branch must have the highest feedback score in their size category, as well as meeting or exceeding the standards set for claims (amount of damage reported during a move), safety and certified labor.

“This is not an easy award to win. Standards are very high, and you have to be nearly perfect in every category. To have 3 branches win for their respective size categories once again highlights the pride we take in providing top quality to our customers,” said Dave Corrigan.

Finally, the Cleveland branch was recognized with the Centers Network Performance Award. This award relates to the Snap Move Container Program, where a customer pays for our movers to load, transport and deliver their items inside of wooden containers. This option can expedite service for smaller shipments, compared to traditional in-van moving options. The containers are shipped to the closest United agent to where the customer is moving, who then assists with delivering the contents of those containers.

“The Centers Network Performance Award is only given to 2 agents. One winner is for agents that handle 0 to 200 containers, and the other winner is for over 200 containers,” said Kirk Hensler. “Corrigan Cleveland received the Centers Network Performance Award for 0-200 containers. They were best amongst 94 agents. Factors that are measured are claims, timeliness in getting the containers ready to pick up, timeliness in delivering inbound containers, and customer satisfaction.”

“It was great to be back in person this year,” said David Corrigan, recapping the event. “It’s been a difficult few years navigating the pandemic and now labor shortages. Spending time with our peers and being able to see how they’re working through issues gives us new ideas to bring home. A lot of these agencies are facing the same struggles we are and it’s a great opportunity to learn from each other, help each other and continue to foster good relationships with our agents. We rely on them to help our customers in areas we don’t have a Corrigan office. They know they can always rely on Corrigan to provide top level service for all of their customers, as well. Overall, this was a very successful event and I couldn’t be prouder of how Corrigan Moving Systems was represented and awarded.”
