The Long Distance Move Process

Unlike a local move which is completed in one day, long distance moves take several days to complete. The move process starts out with a pre-move survey, where one of our moving representatives will come out to your home to meet with you and survey the items you will be moving. Our moving representative will then work with you to customize a moving plan that fits your needs and budget. All of our move surveys are free of charge and come with no further obligation on your part.

After deciding to move with Corrigan Moving Systems, your move is assigned to one of our talented move coordinators who will oversee your entire move from beginning to end. They will proactively reach out to you to keep you informed of your move's progress, and are always just a phone call away to answer all of your questions.

Next, a top quality long distance United driver will be assigned to handle your move. He will arrive at your home on load day with his 53’ tractor trailer. Your belongings will be carefully padded and loaded from floor to ceiling. Depending on the size of your home there may be other customers’ belongings on the driver's trailer along with your own. This allows the driver to optimize the space efficiency of his trailer and allows us to pass on additional cost savings to you, since you will not be paying for 100% of the space inside the trailer.

After loading your household, your driver hits the road.  Because of the distance our drivers travel, and because they often have multiple customers on their moving van, you will be given a small range of days that your shipment will be delivered within. Your move coordinator will keep you informed of the status of your move and will let you know the specific delivery date as quickly as possible, so you can make arrangements to meet the driver at your new home. On delivery day your driver will carefully unload all your belongings and place and position them exactly where you request. He will also reassemble your beds, desks, and any other items we disassembled.  By the time your driver leaves, your home will feel like a home again! Now you can kick back, relax and enjoy your new neighborhood. Your move coordinator will check in with you to confirm everything went smoothly and to see if we can assist you any further.
